Multiple award-winning Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy has finally spoken his mind concerning the lifting of the ban the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards placed on him and Shatta Wale.
During the 2019 edition of the awards scheme, there was a scuffle between the two top dancehall artistes on stage when Stonebwoy was announced as the best dancehall artiste in the country.
Shatta Wale approached the stage the moment Stonebwoy was about delivering his acceptance speech.
This provoked the Bhim Nation boss who in the course of the scuffle pulled out a gun.
They were arrested and the VGMA organizers also stripped them of all awards they won that night in addition to an indefinite ban they placed on them.
The ban has however been lifted and the organizers have issued an official statement to that effect.
Stonebwoy, after reading the statement took to his Twitter handle to vent his anger.
He pointed out that the tone that was used to write the release was wrong. Again, he demanded that, the organizers should have met with him and Shatta Wale to also hear their concerns.
His post can be found below.
Dear VGMA Board & Scheme organisers,I hear the purpose of the VGMA is to celebrate and project Ghanaian musicians and music. If that is so, it takes nothing from you to meet with us the artistes/ our reps b4 reaching decisions that affect us and communicating them to the public. pic.twitter.com/4hnx7irqVE
