Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie released his campaign song for the governing New Patriotic Party – NPP titled “Happy Day” a couple of days ago.
The song which features reigning artiste of the year in Ghana, Kuami Eugene was met with a lot of controversies.
Kuami Eugene alleged that he was not informed about the content of the song before it was released for which reason he felt betrayed by Sarkodie and his management.
Opposition parties supporters also took swipe at the rapper and some of his fans threatened to withdraw their allegiance to his music.
Despite all the negative vibes surrounding it, the song has made it to the top 10 afrobeats songs in Africa for this week.
The song placed third on the list compiled by reputable music rating and statistics collation firm, Charts Africa. Wizkid and Olamide came first and second respectively with Sarkodie settling for the third position.
