The Central Bank of Nigeria has through a statement released today, Friday, February 5 directed all commercial banks in Nigeria to close all cryptocurrency accounts with immediate effect.

Award-winning Nigerian Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke has had his dream of establishing a cryptocurrency company squashed by this directive.
He made the announcement of his intentions to establish a Bitcoin trading company three days ago and today, the CBN has directed the closure of all Cryptocurrency accounts with immediate effect.
Davido and millions of other Nigerian youth are expressing their disappointment in the directive.
