Award-winning Ghanaian reggae artiste, Blakk Rasta has joined the list of industry players who are opposing the move to get Okraku Mantey nominated as a deputy minister for tourism, arts and culture.
There has been rumours that the president of the republic, H.E Nana Akuffo-Addo is set to name the Hitz FM’s manager as the deputy minister designate for the tourism ministry.
This move was heavily opposed by outspoken dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale. Shatta Wale went live on social media and registered his frustrations.
He threatened to form his own political party and run for political office if the president ignore his calls and go ahead to nominate Okraku Mantey.
Moments after his rants on social media, former president of the Musicians Union of Ghana, Bice Osei Kufour popularly known as Obour met with Shatta Wale.
It’s not clear what was discussed between the two industry players. But there’s a rumour hovering around that, Obour might have met Shatta to do a PR job for Okraku to him.
After the photos of his meeting with Shatta Wale went viral on social media, there are others too where Obour is in a meeting with legendary music producer, Hammer of the last two.
It’s this meeting that has hit the last nail into the coffin on why Obour has been moving from industry player to industry player.
Blakk Rasta in a reaction went on social media to pass comments which are against the ‘impending’ nomination of his former colleague at Multimedia.
He made it clear that the industry players should stand their grounds and reject Okraku Mantey as he’s not coming on board to make any significant difference.
